Program Description

This College Tech Program is designed to prepare students for a career in computer/electronics/video hardware engineering. Students learn to use bench top equipment such as digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators. They also learn to solder using a variety of techniques. Students also study digital circuit analysis, microprocessors, develop proficiency in cabling, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and robotics.

Post-Secondary Options

Students may continue their education in two- and four-year technical or community college Electronics Technology programs. Students receive articulated college credit at James H. Rhodes/Clark State (37 credit hours) and Edison Community College (32 credit hours) by completing this program. College Tech Prep scholarships, ranging from $1,000-$1,200 per year are available to students who attend these two colleges.

Students taking this program should enroll in a fourth year senior math and science course to prepare for their college program.
